A few people have brought to my attention that quantum computing can do three states when I bring up my project. While technically qtrits are possible it seems all current quantum development uses qbits. The discussion soon derails into how I should get into quantum computers instead of doing classical ternary.

I have no desire to explore quantum computing for this project. We are still years away from having millions of qbits in a single computer and being able to do actual useful work on a large scale.

A few people have brought to my attention that quantum computing can do three states when I bring up my project. While technically qtrits are possible it seems all current quantum development uses qbits. The discussion soon derails into how I should get into quantum computers instead of this project.

I have no desire to explore quantum computing for this project. We are still years away from having millions of qbits in a single computer and being able to do actual useful work on a large scale. Quantum is outside the realm of DIY at home, or hobby budget.

Although, if you have an interesting tid-bit on quantum and ternary logic still feel free to contact me.
